How the hell is the transmission set up for the first one?

Past that, how would you cool it? I'd guess it doesn't move.

That was my first question, custom I guess!

You drive it like that, thats not the bonnet, its a big scoop.

Hey, I never thought of that. Actually seeing where you're going is overrated anyway.

How about a $500 LeMons car powered by a radial engine?

Oh yes the MR2, I didn't want to get carried away, the workmanship wasn't as nice but its a good effort and its a good choice for the rear engine. A 911 with one in back would be great.

I want to try this though...

Fuck me in the ass and call me gene rayburn. I'll use the 25 year rule to import a knackerd ol transit van, and have a manual, radial, rwd, brown, wood paneled, knackerd ol station wagon/van, and be crowned most jalopy vehicle of wall time.

So hitting the gas will break it loose... *any* gas...

I love the look of the top one. I'm fairly certain it's not actually connected to anything there, but that's not to say it's impossible.
A little more ride-height, and a set of helical gears to change the rotation 90 degrees and bolted up to a normal gearbox.
The old pre-war car with the radial is pretty kickass too.

Yeah I am curious about it too, maybe it raises up higher when it drives. I can't find pictures of it except for this event. I still think cooling is going to be tough, leave the bonnet off, not a DD, traffic isn't going to be good. Yeah, not sure if its real or it just can't do a lot, the 90 degree is a big question. The old one is a 1925 Julian Fleetwood, pretty interesting car.

Yeah, you'd have to have a pretty open front and maybe a Porsche-style enormous oil-cooling system. The cylinders at the back would probably bear the brunt of it, but you could probably arrange some ducting and/or some fans to cool them.
Actually, some really beefy fans would probably help with cooling in traffic as well.
Going through 90 degrees should be fine. Just get a really beefy set of these gears and some good bearings:
Also, I seem to remember someone saying that this car had a second engine for actual motivation, which is slightly disappointing. Not sure if that's right though.

I don't see any other engine, the bed is empty. If you look at the old Julian, it has a fan mounted right on top. You could do that and make a little lip to direct air down the back along the fire wall but you loose the looks. I guess you could mount it underneath, a truck shouldn't be that low anyway. Things like this need documentation from the build!
